Public Sector Equality Duty

At Swanage Primary School, we are fully committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion for all members of our school community. We have due regard to the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) as set out in the Equality Act 2010, and we work actively to ensure that everyone is treated fairly, with dignity and respect.

In line with the Public Sector Equality Duty, we aim to:

  • Eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation

  • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not

  • Foster good relations between different groups within our school community

We embed these principles into all aspects of school life, including our policies, curriculum, behaviour expectations, staff training, and decision-making processes. We regularly review our practices to ensure they meet the needs of our pupils, staff, parents and visitors, including those with protected characteristics.

Further details about how we meet our responsibilities can be found in the documents below:

  • Public Sector Equality Duty Policy

  • Accessibility Plan

These documents outline our approach, objectives, and ongoing actions to ensure our school remains an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
