Inclusion and SEND

At Swanage Primary School, we promote high achievement for all and encourage all children to achieve their full potential. We are an inclusive school and promote equality for all.

We are incredibly proud of the relationships that we develop with each individual child which enables us to identify and address needs as soon as they arise. We offer extra support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and enrichment and challenge all.

Different levels of support can be provided depending on the needs of the child. Most childrens' need can be met through our Universal and Targeted Supported offer which is detailed in our Ordinarily Available Provision document available below.

Some children may require support that is 'different from or additional to' most of their peers and, if there are significant concerns around a child's progress, they may be added to our SEND register so that we can more closely monitor their progress and provide a more specialist package of support.

We aim to work in close partnership with parents to ensure we meet the needs of all children. If parents have any concerns regarding children's needs or progress, they should contact their child's class teacher(s) in the first instance. Information can then be shared with the SENDCo who has oversight of provision for all children who may in need of additional support.
