Indoor Athletics @ Purbeck School - a Brilliant effort by all the Year 5&6s.
Year 5/6 Football
St George's Primary 1 - 7 Swanage Primary
An exciting match between two local schools. we started off with a nice quick warm up passing the ball to each other. As we started the match, both teams started to get a grip of the terrain we were playing on which was a slight uphill slant. We started off scoring a good goal that boosted the confidence of us all. Sadly they just managed to equalise scoring a good goal past our keeper. However, this did not stop us, we carried on looking for goals and we scored another and another and another! At this point we stood fairly high with a lead of 4-1. These spectacular goals had been scored by Archie, Mia and Josh x2. A further goal from Mia meant it was 5-1 at half time. With that the referee blew his whistle for half time and a drinks break. Into the second half we played more defensively but still managed to score another two times to wrap the game up. It was a great game with a great performance. Well done to everyone that played and supported us.

Year 5/6 Football
St Mary's RC Primary 1 - 3 Swanage Primary
The first league game of the season! We had some new faces playing - right winger Ayden in year 5 and centre midfield Josh, also year 5. We got off to a good start, Conor scoring a brilliant goal early in the first half. Then, unfortunately St Mary's equalised from a corner with a well hit shot from the edge of the box. At half time it 1-1 and Mr Lea gave us an encouraging team talk. As the game restarted Connor scored another which helped us find our feet. A corner resulted in our third goal : Ayden took it and hit the bar, leaving Archie to header it in. As the game drew to an end, we gave them three cheers and left victorious.

Congratulations to the Year 5/6 Indoor Athletics team who performed superbly at the indoor athletics final. The team qualified by winning their semi final and competed against the other heat winners form Purbeck and Christchurch. The term produced excellently in their individual and team track and field events, showing excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the entire event. After all the events had finished and the points were totalled up we had come second overall. This was an incredible result achieved by the team. Special mention to Becky and Olivia who won the one by one lap relay.
Well done to the whole team (Becky, Olivia, Olivia, Maddie, Lilly, Ellen, Emily, Emily, Mia, Jazmin, Oli, Conor, Arran, Dexter, Oscar, Jack, George, Rhydian and Joe) that took part on the day.
Swanage Primary: Swanage Lions Fun Swim success.
For the third year running Swanage Primary have won the U12s Lions Cup for swimming the most number of laps at the recent fun swim. This year we had two teams (13 pupils) who gave up a Saturday morning to swim as many lengths as they could of the Purbeck pool in fifty five minutes. Team 1 (Becky, Caitlyn, Conor, Jessica, Lola and Maisie) swam 54 laps; this was the most laps swum by an U12 team on the day. Team 2 (Archie, Dexter, Holly, Joseph, Mia, Rhys and Toby) swam 43 laps. All of the pupils also raised sponsors which totalled over £300. Half of the money raised will come directly back to the school for us to purchase more PE equipment for the children to use.
Well done to all of the pupils who took part and a massive thank to everybody who sponsored the children helping them to raise that brilliant total!
Swanage Primary represents Purbeck at the Year5/6 Girls County Football Final
Well done to the Year 5/6 girls football team that represented Purbeck at the County Final recently. They were the first team from Swanage to ever reach the finals day and did themselves and the school proud!
As a team they have progressed so much with some of them only recently learning how to play the game. They earned the right by winning the Purbeck round of the competition and went on to face the winners from the other areas in the county.
The team played four group games during the afternoon and although didn't win any of their games they never let their heads drop and played some lovely football.
A massive well done to the team (Becky, Jazmin, Maddie, Olivia, Holly, Jessica, Mia, Talia and Trinseca) on their fantastic achievement!
